Long before I was a therapist, I was a client.  I choose to be transparent about my own mental health journey because I believe in breaking the stigma that still surrounds mental illness and seeking treatment.

Earning my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling always felt like my calling, even though I explored other career paths after college.  Since becoming a licensed therapist in 2017, I’ve made it my mission to stay immersed in current research and best practices for treating trauma.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had a pivotal moment of clarity. I realized that the way I was working with my clients didn’t align with what I believed trauma-informed care should be. Viewing behaviors as simply “good” or “bad” and positioning myself as the “expert” in my clients’ lives never sat right with me, but those were the frameworks I had been taught.

That realization led me to explore brain-body approaches and alternative therapeutic modalities like Brainspotting and Parts Work.  As I began incorporating these modalities into my personal healing and professional work, I noticed a shift—not only in the outcomes my clients experienced but also in how I felt about the work itself. I started to feel deeply aligned with my role as a therapist. The process was no longer about “fixing” or controlling outcomes; it became about creating space for healing to unfold naturally and collaboratively.

My interest in providing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) to my clients grew after my own experience with Ketamine treatment following a major life event. While the treatment itself was transformative, I left the process feeling like something was missing. That experience fueled my passion to not only understand KAP on a deeper level but also to create a more holistic and supportive approach for my clients.

I’ve since received extensive training in this specialization and remain committed to expanding my skills every day to offer the most comprehensive and ethical care possible.
